Texas A&M (6-2) is finally looking like the team we all expected during head coach Bucky McMillan's first season at the helm, as the Aggies are coming off an impressive 95-59 blowout road win over Florida State, which featured another elite performance from star shooter Rubén Dominguez, who, after breaking the program record for 3-point makes in a game (10), hit seven shots from deep on Friday night.

Due to Texas A&M's football matchup with rival Texas less than an hour after the win, this impressive performance flew under the radar. Still, with a two-week break before the Aggies enter the College Football Playoff, the basketball team will be back in the spotlight, set to face Pitt in the ACC/SEC challenge on Tuesday night.

On Monday, the first set of NET rankings, which are heavily weighted during the NCAA Tournament selection process, placed the Aggies at No. 79, including an 0-1 Quad 1 record after losing to Oklahoma State on the road, 1-1 in Quad 2 with the win over Florida State and home loss to UCF, and 5-0 against Quad 4 opponents, which is a solid overall record this early into the 2025-2026 season.

In both losses to Oklahoma State and UCF, this brand-new roster, filled with veterans from the transfer portal, had yet to establish its identity, but since the home loss to the Knights, the Aggies have shot over 40% from the field and from 3-point range in all but one game.

Tuesday's matchup vs. Pittsburgh will be another Quad 2 opportunity, and after what we saw against the Seminoles, Texas A&M is the road favorite for the second consecutive game.
