The Kansas City Chiefs hosted eight players — five offensive linemen and three wide receivers — for tryouts ahead of their Week 14 matchup against the Houston Texans, according to the NFL's transaction wire.

All of the linemen were listed as offensive tackles, which may indicate the Chiefs' front office is interested in adding another blocker to man the edges of Kansas City's front five.

Among the players who had a chance to compete for a potential place on Kansas City's offensive line were Zach Banner, Nicolas Petit-Frere, D'Ante Smith, Zachary Thomas, and Matt Waletzko.

The three receivers who received tryout opportunities on Monday were Joaquin Davis, Erik Ezukanma, and Jha'Quan Jackson.

While it is unlikely that the Chiefs would sign any of these players to their 53-man roster, injuries and inconsistency have plagued Kansas City this season, and the team may look to bring in some fresh blood to compete for roles on its practice squad.
