The 2025 NFL season has not gone the way the Atlanta Falcons had hoped through the first 13 weeks. With a 4-8 record and five games left to play, the immediate future looks bleak for Raheem Morris' team. The Falcons are trending in the wrong direction, and Sunday's 27-24 loss to the New York Jets felt like a new low.
Atlanta's special teams struggled against the Jets, but Morris said he won't be making any changes to his staff. The Falcons head coach also discussed Drake London's injury, Kirk Cousins' recent performance and wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge being a healthy scratch in Week 13.

Morris on potential coaching staff changes
Morris said special teams coordinator Marquice Williams' job was safe, and that the team won't be making any coaching staff changes this week. Atlanta's problems clearly run much deeper than a few special teams blunders, and making Williams the fall guy would not solve anything with five games left.
"I've got a lot of confidence in what Marquice does," Morris said of the Falcons special teams coordinator.
Morris on Drake London's injury status
London has missed the last two games with a knee injury but is considered day-to-day entering Week 14, according to Morris. "He's certainly getting better," Morris said about London's injury. "Certainly has a chance. We'll have to see him move around a little bit this week. He moved around a little bit today. We'll get more feel for that by Wednesday."

"He's done a nice job of putting us in the position to win," Morris said of Cousins' play over the last two weeks. The veteran quarterback passed for 234 yards and one touchdown in his third start of the year. Cousins has passed for 683 yards, three touchdowns and one interception this season.
Morris on KhaDarel Hodge not playing vs. Jets
"It's always going to be performance-based," Morris said of the decision to play wide receivers Deven Thompkins and Dylan Drummond over KhaDarel Hodge and Casey Washington in Week 13. "You have to go out there and find out who gives you the best chance to win."

Morris on special-teams blunders
Morris called Jamal Agnew's muffed punt "inexcusable," and expressed his disappointment in the Falcons' special teams. "We played awful yesterday on special teams. I don't know how to say it any other way," said Morris.
"You can't have those two big clear mistakes from a special teams standpoint," Morris added. "We've got to find a way to get better there... Whether that's changes from a personnel standpoint, philosophy standpoint, kicking standpoint, whatever the case may be."
The Falcons are back home this week to host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
