Minnesota cornerback John Nestor has been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Gophers’ 17-7 rivalry week win over Wisconsin. He recorded nine tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery in the snow-covered game on Saturday.
Nestor is only the second Gopher this season to receive Big Ten Player of the Week honors. Quarterback Drake Lindsey was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for his performance against Rutgers back in September.
