Are the Carolina Panthers interested in a reunion with wideout Adam Thielen?
On Monday, the Minnesota Vikings announced that they have granted Thielen's request for a release. The 35-year-old veteran now hopes to land a "bigger role" elsewhere in finishing out what'll be his final NFL campaign.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementPanthers head coach Dave Canales, during his post-Week 13 press conference this afternoon, was asked if that opportunity could possibly come in Carolina.
"He's still on their roster currently," Canales replied with a smile. "So I'm gonna kick that one down to a couple of days."
After spending the first decade of his pro career in home state of Minnesota, Thielen signed a three-year pact with the Panthers in the spring of 2023. He went on to become the team's leading receiver in each of his two seasons for Carolina—amassing 151 catches, 1,629 receiving yards and nine touchdowns over 27 games.
Thielen, upon his wishes, was then traded back to the Vikings this past August. He's appeared in 11 outings in 2025, totaling just 69 yards on eight receptions.
