The Toronto Blue Jays are one of the more active teams this winter, already signing Dylan Cease to a massive $210 million deal. While this was a big contract to dish out, it bolsters their rotation and kicks off what could be a very expensive offseason in Toronto.

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com made "perfect matches" for free agents this winter, and Bichette is one of those players. While the premise didn't allow for any re-signings, Bichette's linked landing spot would be the worst possible outcome for the Blue Jays.

"Yankees: Bo Bichette." Feinsand writes. "Bichette and the Blue Jays could still have a reunion, but what if the Yankees made a strong bid for the shortstop?"
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIf the New York Yankees were able to steal away Bichette from the Blue Jays, it would be the worst possible scenario for Toronto.
Not only would they lose one of their best offensive players from this past season and their World Series run, but that player would be heading to a hated division rival.
The Yankees' landing Bichette would help them replace Anthony Volpe and provide insurance for Jazz Chisholm Jr. A move isn't out of the question for Bichette, despite an odd fit on paper.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementToronto wants Bichette back, and while they're exploring such a contract, Bichette has the freedom to sign wherever he wants, and the Yankees are no strangers to offering big money to free agents.
Bichette leading Toronto is a possibility this winter, and might even be likely if the Blue Jays sign a player like Kyle Tucker or Cody Bellinger.
But if Feinsand's linking comes true, and Bichette joins the Yankees, it would be a brutal way for Bichette's tenure in Toronto to come to an end.
