Graysen Bollech of Grafton football was the winner of last week’s Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Piggly Wiggly high school athlete of the week poll for Nov. 24 to Nov. 29.
The senior kicker drained a go-ahead 35-yard field goal with just 6 seconds left in Grafton’s 17-15 victory over Reedsburg in the WIAA Division 3 state football championship game Nov. 21 at Camp Randall Stadium. Bollech’s game-winning kick sealed the Black Hawks’ first state title in football since 1982 and a perfect 14-0 season.

Esmé Loomans of the University School of Milwaukee girls hockey co-op program was the runner-up in last week’s poll. Loomans filled the box score for USM in its first two games of the season. In the opener Nov. 21 against Cap City, she tallied two of the Wildcats' four goals in a 4-2 victory. The next day against the Madison Metro Lynx, Loomans scored four goals and assisted on a fifth goal during USM's 5-2 win.
Other nominees included Jack Nelson of Grafton football, Ryan Heiman of Arrowhead football and Natalie Kussow of Arrowhead girls basketball.
